Arrival

After a long trip over, including nearly missing a flight from Dublin, I arrived in Berlin yesterday morning at 10:00 AM local time. With no trouble I took the train to the IES center to check in, where I had a small tour of the center, got a new train pass and talked to some fellow students almost all of whom were as tired as I was.

In the afternoon I met Johann Groenewold, the man with whom I am staying while in Berlin. Johann is a sharp dressing man in his late 50’s who keeps a pretty swank flat in Prenzlauer Berg. The Apartment is a great size for two people, we both have separate rooms and share a well sized bathroom and decent sized kitchen.

My room is huge for a single, particularly for a place in the center of a city the size of Berlin.

The room is well furnished has high ceilings and a nice decor of minimalistic patterns and shapes.

Setting Up and Setting Off

So I took the plunge and made my site any easy to set up blog. I had been hoping to build up my own site, but sadly I have lacked the motivation and imagination to make a decent page, so this will due for now. I hope to at least hack the skin to a more personalized form, but I do like the Shocking Blue Green that was made so easily available to me by wordpress.

I’m leaving for an academic year in Berlin on Monday morning and hope to use this blog as a standard ground to write in my mother tongue and inform all my adoring fans of my mischievous exploits.
